Volunteering work is about giving in the first place, it enables me to give something back to the community that has given me a lot of opportunities.
It has also given me a lot to be grateful for because it allowed me to meet of people from different cultures and backgrounds, also people outside my inner circle, for example a homeless man or a woman struggling with loneliness which made realize that we have different stories and that we can learn from each other by helping each other.
Volunteering at STC in Leuven has given me the ability to look at myself from another perspective. It made me realize that I have a lot to be grateful for and volunteering has taught me how to work together with others which at the same time, expanding my circle of friends and acquaintances.
